Health: HIV PEP
* HIV PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is emergency medicine taken after a possible HIV exposure to prevent infection.
* Start PEP immediately, ideally within 2 hours but within no more than 72 hours (3 days) of exposure. After 72 hours, the medicine cannot stop the virus.
* Requires taking a course of tablets for 28 days.
* For people who are HIV-negative or do not know their status.
* Primarily for emergencies like condom breaks, shared needles, or sexual assault.
* Get it at the emergency room, urgent care, or a sexual health clinic right away.
* In some states, pharmacists can also prescribe PEP.
* Highly effective but not 100% effective
* Not for daily use - PEP is only for emergencies. If you expect repeated exposure to HIV, talk to a doctor about PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis).

* At the latest Turning Point USA’Chapter Leadership Summit in Washington DC, Erika Kirk made headlines urging young conservatives to confront those she described as enemies.
* She presented her organization’s Christian nationalist agenda as a fight against evil and included transgender people among those she said must be confronted.
* “So, I don’t care if it’s a trans, if it’s a gender-confused person, if it’s a Muslim, if it’s whoever else that’s standing in front of you, that’s spitting on you, that’s cussing at you, that’s throwing your buttons everywhere, I don’t care. You are what? You are what Charlie always said. You are what? You are a happy warrior...We are on enemy-occupied territory.“
