In 2023, 19 year old Clay Stephens who was openly gay, was living with his grandparents in Lawton, Oklahoma. Clay had a secret boyfriend in 24 year old Tawaan Richardson. Tawaan insisted the relationship remain secret because Tawaan also was having a relationship with a woman. Things took a turn for the worse when Clay threatened to out Tawaan to his girlfriend.
