In Episode 127 of CEREBRO, Connor and returning guest Tim Platt (Rude Tales of Magic) flap their arms for justice with Barnell Bohusk, the befriendable Beak! One of the signature characters from Grant Morrison's indelible run on New X-Men, Barnell is an extremely visible young mutant without 'useful' powers, and played an essential part in Morrison's reframing mutation as a concept far beyond superheroics. He serves alongside his love interest, Angel Salvadore, as one of the most prominent new students in the dramatically expanded Xavier Institute.
Largely unused by writers after Morrison — particularly after losing his mutant status for years following House of M and the Decimation — the character has endured as a fan favorite, and more recently starred in a memorable arc of the X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic written by Tim Seeley.
The CEREBRO character file on Beak begins at 1:23:01.
(Content Advisory: Barnell's story includes a genocide.)
