🌈 Summary Avery Freeman is left shocked when during a fundraising event at the company he works at, Isaac Russel, the most handsome and sought-after man at the company, bids a whopping thousand dollars to go on a date with Avery. Avery is surprised and then suspicious. He dislikes Isaac because of his playboy attitude, something that Avery witnessed himself when they attended the same college and Avery fell for Isaac, only to find out Isaac had been using him. Avery becomes more suspicious and jaded as a result of that incident and consequently makes it very clear to Isaac that he is still suspicious of him, and that he dislikes him. During the course of the date itself, though, Isaac makes it clear that he is putting in the effort to change how he treats people, and that he admires Avery and wants to get to know him better if Avery will forgive him. After a strange and somewhat awkward night together, Avery decides to give Isaac a second chance, and the two grow closer and eventually start dating, and then get engaged and married.
