🌈 Summary Part 1 :- Eric’s boyfriend, Josh, is dying, and Eric is pretty sure he has no guidebook about how to deal with this particular thing. In between them comes Josh’s doctor and their long time friend, Jack. As the boyfriends, Eric and Josh, deal with the latter’s impending death, Josh at first encourages Eric to ask for Jack’s monetary help (to pay for the hospital bills) and then insists that he should “get to know him better because they’re dealing with the same tragic situation.” But Eric realizes it a little too late that Josh is trying to make sure that Eric doesn’t have to live alone after his death. In the meantime, Eric is also thinking of surrogacy–a means to make sure that not everything of Josh dies with him. But after they discuss it with the doctor, Josh refuses to go with the plan, and Eric is left to wonder if he should do it anyway even after Josh is dead. After all, Bella, Eric’s sister, seems to be ready to help them... or not. Part 2 :- After Josh’s death, Eric is not the same. He does not know what to do, so he does what Josh had asked him to: date the doctor, Jack. But although they don't date, they do have a long-time fling that almost always results in physical needs. After a time, Eric breaks it off with Jack, too, citing the reason that he cannot use him for his feelings. As the years pass, Eric busies himself with raising his daughter, Joan, who was born with surrogacy; she is wholly Josh’s. And while he raises her, he navigates through several of his flings before finally giving up on it.
