Part 1 of today’s show features several great new songs by queer artists: Sydney band FVNERAL, Meanjin/Brisbane singer-songwriter Violet Salt, US superstar (and Katie’s favourite) Adam Lambert, and nonbinary Sydney singer-songwriter and actor Alex the Astronaut. There’s also a beautiful tribute to the late Shane MacGowan by Bruce Springsteen, a song about a middle-aged ten-pin bowler with marriage problems, and more. Here is the playlist:
- front door (sadder.softer.gayer) – FVNERAL
- Rivers End – Nectar Woode
- A Rainy Night in Soho – Bruce Springsteen
- Back to Me – Violet Salt
- River at Your Feet – Luluc
- Am I OK – Adam Lambert
- Smile – The DK Effect
- Big Love – Ryan Martin John
- 7-10 Split – Theo Kandel
- In Nashville – Alex the Astronaut
