Katie plays three new releases by Australian artists and then introduces her in-studio guest, well-known Narrm/Melbourne singer-songwriter and guitarist Barb Waters. Barb is a veteran of our city’s live music scene, and she and Katie chat about how that scene has moved from south to north of the river over the years, how her collaborative 2003 album Rosa Duet (re-released in 2023) was made, and how her two new songs were written and recorded. She performs one of those songs live in the studio, and we finish with a song by Folk Bitch Trio, of which Barb’s daughter Jeanie is a member. Here is the playlist:
- Home – Tom Morfitt-White
- Wednesdays at the Waterloo – Lottie McLeod
- Twelfth Century Love Songs – Tom Woodward
- I Won’t See You Again – Barb Waters ft. Matt Walker
- Farmer’s Wife (live in the studio) – Barb Waters
- Chalet Light – Barb Waters ft. Van Walker
- Hotel TV – Folk Bitch Trio
