Deaf artist Irene Holub premieres Manifesto of Silences at Arts House in North Melbourne from 6 to 11 October as part of Melbourne Fringe. The work reimagines opera through Auslan poetry, movement, projection and immersive sound, creating a visually rich performance accessible to both signers and non‑signers. Holub’s piece explores the historical suppression of Deaf identity and language, offering audiences a powerful, community‑centred experience.
