SUMMER SERIES
In this episode of Turn The Beat Around, we celebrated the imminent summer months with a disco-fuelled journey through dance, soul and funk, spanning more than six decades of music from the early 1960s right through to 2026. A special spotlight was reserved for legendary disco and soul vocalist Sharon Redd, whose heavenly birthday fell on 19 October. Four of her unforgettable recordings were woven throughout the program, honouring her influence on dance music and her place among the disco genre.
